Jacobite , what loco and stock

Will be taking the family on the Jacobite express from Fort William to mallaig next month, Anyone know what the loco being used is ? also what stock is being used, I am aware that it is Mk1's but does anyone have the coach numbers of the set?

Locos used would likely be either Black 5 no. 45231 or K1 class no. 62005. The coaching stock will likely be Maroon MK1s but I'm afraid I don't know any coach numbers.

This website has details on coaching stock that may be used on tours at the very bottom of the page. The site also shows every steam tour booked to run in 2008, complete with times.

The locomotives as you said are taking it in weekly turns but the stock could be anything. If you want to see the locos when out of service go to Inverlochy Castle and you will see the TMD entrance where the locos are kept. Locals say as long as you respect the railway property you can walk and look at the locos while they're being cleaned. I'll try and upload some photos from this place soon!

Wouldnt have minded 37's on it, but only for part of the tour... Much prefer a Black 5
