The fare from Iver to Zone 1 is considerably more than from the next station West Drayton.

Any way of saving on this journey other than getting off at West Drayton and tapping in and out ?

Journey normally one way one day and returning the next.

Splitting at West Drayton is 8.90 peak/6.20 off peak.

Alternatively, splitting at Hayes and Harlington is 8.50 peak/6.40 off peak. The advantage of Hayes is that it has more trains, so you won't have to wait as long for the next train after you have touched out/in.
