I've just got a new Android phone with an NFC reader.

There are a few ITSO reader apps in the app store.

Masabi

Yorcard

and

ECEBS

ECEBS seems to be the best one, showing everything on the cards,
including a return ticket I loaded onto my SWT StagecoachSmart card at an SWT TVM about a year ago.

In contrast, Oyster cards seem to be totally encrypted.

Thanks for this, I got one of the first NFC phones out and there was nothing when I checked the play store for apps, finally something has come out.

I wonder if there is a way to load the data on the smartcard to the phone and use the phone instead of the card?

I deliberately chose not to get an NFC phone.

If I started using it like a wallet and keeping tickets on it and paying in shops with it and I lost the thing then I would have lost far more than just a phone. This way I just loose the phone and have to revoke a few SSH keys, change 1 or 2 passwords and de-authorise it from some on-line accounts etc. and not have to worry about my bank account or buying net train/ theatre tickets and what not.

IMO it's asking for trouble keeping lots of thing together and when I go on holiday for example I take 2 wallets and have 1 on my person and the other locked in my suit case in the hotel.

I don't use the NFC at the moment, there is nothing to use it for apart from scanning bus stops and checking the tickets on my ITSO card, no wallet feature that I am aware off yet.

The technology is there. As far as I know, we're waiting for someone to go do it, and submit it to the bus/train industry for testing
