got a phone call from them today and a very assertive person got me to sign up.
But I have my doubts about the quality of service, particularly the broadband.
I rang BT to enquire if they are a legitimite company.
I rang italk attempt to cancel the switchover but an extremely assertive man said to wait until I receive the pack through the post.
What am I to do. by nature I'm not a very assertive person.
Are they better than BT?
How good is the broadband?
Or should I phone again and cancel? (I have 14 days to do so) It is not in my nature to be very assertive and he really wouldn't take no for an answer.
I've been with BT for about 18 months so I am worrie that if I don't cancel this switchover, not only will I end up with an inferior service but also with a hefty cancellation charge.

I presume you are referring to iTalk Telecom

They have a minimum 24 month contract (see this CAG thread and iTalk's T&Cs, section 4).

Also
On your transfer to our services, we will bar all International and Premium rate calls
as a precaution. This will be reviewed after 3 months or until we can see that you
have a good payment history. If you require your barring to be removed then
please call Customer Services, who can consider your request.

I subsequently checked some reviews of them on the imternet and they really do seem best avoided. So I called again and cancelled everything. They are so assertive that it is very difficult indeed to get them to take no for an answer.
It concerns me that a lot of people are going to be ensnared by them
