So not long after being lambasted in the press that the US can sort its self out when it snows it appears that they cant either. People trapped in airports and on trains..

Well there is a difference between a few inches of snow and some chiily temps and 20 inches of snow, 40-60 mph winds, and -20C below wind chills, doncha think?

There really is no shame in being overpowered by the weather anywhere in the world.
The northern US is just much better prepared to deal with the aftermath - lots of snow plows (ploughs), and lots of salt. Also, many places now pre-treat the roads with chemicals ahead of the snow.

I believe things will get back to normal very quickly in the US - except the airlines neeidng several days to re-sort the plane schedules - and move along the stranded passengers.

This topic reminds me of a friend who lives near the coast in Oregon - where the major weather is normally rain in the winter - who got some inches of snow last winter. She took a picture of herself bent over moving snow off her walkway with a cookie baking sheet!

just to cut down your post a little - you are claiming that it was only a little bit of snow and not as cold as that over here?

you havent been watching the news my friend.. I know where me mate lives in the NW it was nearly 20 inches of snow and hit - 18 some nights for hiim so he didnt even have water.

Been hitting the wind down here since the snow(kent at around 50 MPH and has been icy as ****..
