Spill, where did she go and what traction did she most enjoy?

Well, nothing too exciting, not for me anyway as the Tyne Tees Ranger is pretty limited in distance but not for traction.

Newcastle - Northallerton (185) (Planned on paying for a ticket between Darlington & Northallerton as the ranger isn't valid on the direct route but didn't have to)

Newcastle - Durham (43) (Where 43318 was on the rear and actually got my attention a bit!)

As for the traction she most enjoyed, probably the HST, she does get excited, probably because of the noise from the Valentas she has seen in the past but it proves she has good taste.

Doesn't that techically mean things haven't changed?? I think in reality, most girls in the past, and in the present would rather have a Barbie Doll than a train set.... Sounds like it was a fun day out then, nice bit of variety. Out of curiosity, did you do anything at the end of any of those journies, or was it just a cranking trip?

Nothing specific really, I don't even do it for the mileage or traction really, I just like being out and about on trains.

Fair enough that, these days I can't get on a train without noting what motive power it is, the IDs of locos/power cars/coaches/units/whatever on the service and such like. Used to just go out for a jolly without making any notes, always regretted it since!
