hells bells! That's some route knowledge that driver has. :) Could do with him around Castleton and Mills Hill - that stretch is very slippery at the moment

Don't be surprised if it doesn't, RHTT trains have a habit of getting altered STP.

Probably a good idea to wait until it definitely starts running before going out for it on spec!

Have the leaves started falling in earnest in your area yet?

I would normally do that but I was being rushed! I was thinking that it was running early as well!

Looks like someone at NetworkRail agrees - started running today (Monday.) Not all RHTT workings have started running though - looks a bit hit-and-miss.

I thought they all started running at the same time (days of operation for individual trains notwithstanding.)

Not true - each train starts running as and when when local conditions dictate;
it's often three weeks between the first and last trains commencing, with the
last ones usually being the Anglian circuits.

Looks like 3J11 (Carlisle Kingmoor - Carlisle Kingmoor Via the world) ran this morning! Was 111E through Appleby!

Unusually, that train was the first diagram to start running this year,
with the first run being last Tuesday (October 1st).

(last year the Crewe/South Wales ones were first,
but they have not started yet, which goes to show
how unpredictable they are!)
