Is this actually valid?

Going to London. Train split have sold me an advance single from my local station to London Underground Zone 2, and an anytime day so gle from Finsbury Park to London underground zones 1-6.
Their itenaraty has me on a Thameslink service from Cambridge to Finsbury Park, then staying on that train to St Pancras.
But the Finsbury park to zones 1-6 ticket is marked "only valid via London Underground/DLR" and national rail conforms only valid on LU, DLR and Elizabeth Line.
Am I going to have a problem trying to get through the gate line from. The Thames long platform? Also bear in mind the ticket machine I collected from usually produces tickets that don't work on the barriers, so I will almost certainly have to go to a manned gate.

I can't say for 100% sure that the second ticket will work the barriers at St Pancras, but it's absolutely valid. There are several routes across London where there is 'interavailability' between National Rail and Underground/DLR services.

One such route is between Finsbury Park and London Terminals (St Pancras, Kings Cross, Old Street and Moorgate). This means that National Rail tickets are valid on the Underground over those routes and vice versa. Note that interavailability generally doesn't cover intermediate stations (unless specifically stated) - so you cannot break your journey at Barbican or Angel whilst using the Underground on a Finsbury Park to London Terminals ticket, for example.

Due to the above interavailability it is perfectly valid to use a Thameslink service to travel from Finsbury Park to St Pancras on an Underground Zones 1-6 ticket (and to then continue on Underground/DLR services to any destination within Zones 1-6).
