Is there any difference between an Interrail One Country Pass for Britain and a BritRail pass?

I was looking at these and I can't see any difference between an Interrail One Country 3-day Flexipass for Britain and a BritRail 3 day Flexipass (putting aside that BritRail offers some regional passes at lower prices).

Is there anything I need to know when choosing one or the other? That is, is there any difference at all?

Both are available to EU citizens, right?

Thanks.

Eligibility is based on residency not citizenship. A UK citizen can use them, provided they are resident abroad.

There are 2 version of the BritRail pass, one for European residents and one for the rest of the world.

Thanks - but in terms of their actual use in Britain they work in exactly the same way?

With Interrail pass you must log all train journeys, either on paper form for paper pass or in the interrail app for mobile pass.

With Britrail you just show the paper or digital pass when checked, no logging required or possible.

Paper passes of both won't work ticket barriers, reports of the barcodes on digital passes suggest you will have little success with these working barriers as well.

The only difference I'm aware of in terms of validity is that BritRail passes are valid on Heathrow Express, whereas Interrail passes are not.

I used a Britrail pass in April/May and it worked on barriers throughout the UK (not even the 'passback' problem) except Newcastle.

Good, glad that it is finally working, years after the barcode (Aztec) passes were introduced.

I used Interrail during that same timeframe and it didn't work at any barriers I encountered.
