With just a small amount now running, is Nottingham now the best location for 60 sightings?

I have seen 3 diffrent members today, at home, 60010, 60049 and it was too dark for the other one, but it was grey.

Most come in the evening & early hours / overnight, the next one due past here will be around half 4.

Barnetby does not see this many now, nor does the Erewash Vally.

well the only one booked to pass here on the Grantham branch is at about 0450 IIRC on oil, though I don't know as despite it roaring past each day I always sleep through it:lol:

A couple of years ago there was only two places to go for regular 60 action. Newport and Barnetby. As far as I know, Newport is still king of South Wales for 60 action, but the best way to find that out would be to ask the regulars there.

Nice to know Nottingham gets a good few 60s through it though :D

Barnetby isn't so good for 60s now seeing as the Steel Works just down the road has a big enough stockpile of ore (for now). Currently, there is only about 4 trips a day between Immingham and the steel works (and they finish for the day at about 2 in the afternoon now). So unless there's a few heavy oil trains need moving, you'll only see 1 or 2 a day currently.
