My Manager has just sent me my tickets for next week to travel but on 1 of the tickets it say "issued as 2 coupons" yet he has only sent me the 1.

Does this make the ticket invalid now (i think the other part was a seat reservation for virgin trains) will i need to get this before i travel?

If it is an advance fare it should say on the ticket something like "Valid only with seat reservation", the seat reservation ticket will say something like "Only valid with ticket number xxxxx" and/or "Mandatory seat reservation" on it.

The ticket will also state the ticket type at the top left of the ticket as 'Advance'.

Walk up tickets (Anytime, Off-Peak, etc, etc) bought in advance may have "Issued as x coupons" on it, but the reservations are not compulsory.

:?: Are you able to advise the "From" and "To" Stations on the ticket? And the fare? Also, is it a Single or Return ticket?

I have been on the phone to thetrainline for 20 mins trying to sort out what could of happened (i think my manager only took 4 of the 5 coupons out of the self service machine by mistake as he is sure he dont have another coupon)

The outward journey Ramsgate - Birmingham International was "advanced single" and said on the ticket "issued as 2 coupons" while my return journey is a off-peak single with no writing on it.

The call centre worker told me as i dont have the 2nd coupon my ticket is invalid for travel as it acts as a reservation for travel Euston-Birmingham International. but i did manage to buy the same ticket on London Midland for £2 more.

As it seems to only be the reservation that is missing you may be able to get it re-issued, so check at a local station. *not all stations can re-issue reservations.
