Is it worth complaining?

I have a question. I had booked a ticket in advance to London from Leicester. I decided to collect the ticket from the fast machine. I gave myself 10 minutes to collect the ticket and get on the platform, although I should have given myself more time. However one of the ticket machines broke down and one customer decided to spend some time fiddling around with the only machine. By the time I got to the platform the 17.00 train pulled away. Was very annoyed at this point. Is it worth complaining and will I get some sort of compensation or should I not bother at all?

Nothing ventured nothing gained; was there a ticket window available? You could have picked them up there.

Yes there was a queue for those too...I was so fixated with time I didn't see how fast the queue was going.

Dunno about Leicester station in particular, but 10 minutes should be enough time to acquire a ticket by any means. Give it a go.

Quick bit of advice..check National Rail Enquiries for minimum interchange times between trains at Leicester..if its more than 10 mins, you are laughing..if not..forget it.I advise that because..1. I did 3 years at Leicester depot and 2.I know if its more than 10 mins interchange you can claim you were purchasing interchange tickets for the cheapest journey and get a refund on the grounds that the advice from National Rail didnt fit the description you were given about Leicester station

To be honest,10 mins isn't long to get your tickets from a bloody machine and then get your train buddy..i know those machines are ****e !
