Is it true that SWT are going to use Desiros on 442 diagrams, put 458s on Windsor diagrams and transfer the 442s to use on Brighton mainline services (442s in Southern livery - hmmm) if the SRA get rid of Gatwick Express?

Aren't Mk3s banned from the Brighton route?

Not at all.
Too many gauging issues for Mk3's on the Brighton line. Also you'd need to build more 444's to replace the 442's. The 458's will gone by the end of the year as they are non standard to the fleet now
