Is it still the case the diagramming on XC doesn't differentiate between 4/5 car sets?

There have always been set 4 and 5-car diagrams. What happens in practice is that sets get transposed at times as a result of disruption and other on the day operational changes.

There may be some which are quite variable and of course swaps will be unavoidable at times, but there is definitely a plan, for example a 5-car set via Doncaster is very rare in my experience, with the vast majority of those running via Leeds booked for 5-cars.

Traincrew diagrams don't, they either say 'VOY' or 'VOYx2'.

pretty much but they wont plan a 10 car to run in service

Although pairs of 221s making 10 car do occasionally turn up, eg yesterdays 1V58 Edinburgh - Plymouth (with single unit continuing to Penzance)

Just to demonstrate the inconsistency of allocation, the following working 2 hours later, was just 4cars.
