Is CLJ>ECR>LBG a permitted route?

Hello fellow Rail users

I always thought that my season ticket from Clapham Junction to London Terminals permitted me to travel from East Croydon to London Bridge but now I'm not so sure.

I tried to use the routing guide but got confused. Can anyone confirm this for me?

At one point in that thread, the suggestion was that a Selhurst-London Terminals ticket (£31 weekly, £119.10 monthly) although more expensive than a Clapham Junction-London Terminals ticket might be an alternative. It is certainly still possible to get a Selhurst-East Croydon-London Bridge itinerary on National Rail Enquiries for a Selhurst-London Terminals ticket.

Clapham Junction to London Bridge via East Croydon is not valid. The relevant maps show you can travel direct to Victoria or Waterloo, or if you are heading towards London Bridge/Blackfriars you can travel via Denmark Hill or Waterloo East. NRE will not validate CLJ-LBG via ECR.

That route was removed from the NRG a few weeks ago, but it's very easily circumvented and backed up by the NRE journey planner.

to RJ:
When I do search on NRE for CLJ to LBG via ECR and then look at 'Details' I get the message: "You need to buy more than one ticket for this journey" which seems to invalidate this as a single ticket route.

It's very interesting that you state that this has recently changed though: I'm sure I checked this back in December, when I bought the season ticket, and it was valid then.

That is true - but there are other tickets you can buy for a similar price that are endorsed by National Rail Enquires as valid between East Croydon and London Bridge.
