Worcester Shrub Hill is my 'home station' (if you like) and at the back of it there's a largely disused freight yard. I was wondering, apart from the few freight trains that use it, if there were any plans for it in the future?

According to my friend, who knows someone who works for First Great Western, the yard will be used to store HSTs in between their workings to and from Paddington. Can anyone confirm this because it may be random rumour?

FGW are already keeping at least one HST in the area, but not in the yard but the "long siding" south of the station (on the down side). Unfortunately, according to local press, FGW are about to be served a noise abatement notice for leaving both PC running overnight to provide the train with heat and light and to mitigate against failuer in the morning. So unless they install some proper train facilities at this siding I imagin one possibility is to stable the HST(s) in Worcester Yard where they will be further from the houses affected. Presumably at most depots a shore electrical supply is used????
