Is 19 minutes transfer time enough ?

My wife and I are travelling to Inverness, via Aberdeen.

I have already booked the Edinburgh to Aberdeen train, which will arrive in Aberdeen (assuming bang on time) at 17:06 (Saturday)

The Inverness train leaves Aberdeen station at 17:25

If I booked this 17:25 train and the LNER train arrives late, would my ticket be valid for a later train ?

19 minutes is sufficient time in Aberdeen.
If the LNER is late, then yes, your ticket would be valid on a later train.

The 17:25 from Aberdeen to Inverness is actually booked to follow the LNER from Dundee as it comes from Glasgow.

There is a later train, leaving Aberdeen at 18:18, but the ticket is currently showing at about £49 instead of £19 for the 17:25 train. That's for an earlier date though .. maybe it'll be different when tickets are available for our actual travel date (4th Jan)

I've just today managed to book NCL - EDB on TransPennine, for the first leg of our journey .. tickets were £5.15 each .. not too bad at all

Aberdeen is not a big station. If you do find yourself waiting a while the adjacent Union Square has restaurants, shopping and toilets.

I just hope my wife doesn't see the big TKMax sign as we pull into the station .. I'll try and distract her
