Hi all,

Pics from this weeks trip are here...

http://joe-bloggs-irish-railway-photos.fotopic.net/

Many miles were covered as I traveled from Belfast Aiprport to Antrim, then to Dublin, Waterford, Templemore, Athy, Dundalk, Antrim,Portrush, Newry then finally to Dublin airport.

Pics include 076 & 220 on the DFDS liners, 200`s on the Cork mainline, some Castle Class units in the north and last but no means least 112 on a ballast from Antrim to Portrush.

Many thanks to all those who helped with gen.

Regards

Nice pics, Joe!! LOve the Irish rail scene, just wish I'd travelled more over there.

BTW, do you know what happened to the Mk.III coaches? Last I heard they were up for sale, a possibility they may have been acquired for UK loco haulage??

There are a couple of sets stored at both Dundalk and Waterford.

Some coaches where cut up (I believe the Mk lll DVTs were cut up also).

Not sure if any are for sale or not.

Irish Rail seem very anti loco hauled and have embraced the unit. I guess they are very cost effective but compare that to the superior Mk lll coach...
