Iraq is...evil? lol :p

I don't have a problem with these countries or their people. But some of the things that they believe as a country are quite wrong in my opinion.

Correct, have a biscuit.

Its not so much the beliefs of the country but the beliefs of the representatives of the country that I think you have a problem with. But also, there is such cultures that are vastly different to that of Buxton. You must also remember that they have much firmer belief and faith in some things that people here may not so strictly hold to.

You could have been imprisioned for being a gay or even shot if you were serving in the armed forces for such a "crime" in the 1950s.

Absolutely, it's amazing how things have changed over the past 40 years, but there is still a long way to go.

Then again, there are some regional differences too in how we believe, but take Israel, a far more democratic and understanding country than any others in that area, perhaps it's a religious thing?

Israel takes a lot of lead from America and is more Christian/Jewish than anything else...

Mind you, Clacton -Essex is just as bad - my partners grandma doesn't want me to marry her grand-daughter because I'm disabled!

But then, as you said, things were alot different around the time your partners grandma was young. She will have been raised around stricter views on such things, even though things are alot different now.

Quite... although this woman has recently said (and I quote) "Hitler had the right idea"...

Let me put it this way: Hitler had some good ideas. I'd describe him as marmite; love him or hate him.

Andel, how is the BR set, shouldn't you be working on that :p

Yes, a couple of good ideas. He just acted on his ideas very badly.
Although, I guess he was getting things done!

Pfft. I've made a mental note that should you attempt an uprising I'll find your weakness and disarm-or-leg you.

Well, he did alot of bad things. But he actually did them, rather than just talking about them like most people today!

I'm in no way supporting the man though. Evil evil evil (more biscuits? :p)

Israel is still very intollerant of many things that we accept in the UK. As is America. Things that the socialists of the early 20th Century fought for, like Union rights, annual holidays, 2 day weekends, equal access to opportunities.

Don't live in America and fall ill without Medical insurance, else you get the worst possible health care, worse than that in some 3rd world countries. Again, donl't lose your job without having paid your social security up to date.

Quite. Now, what did we wrong Iran with? Hint: we sold them something...

Well we sold them guns, but before that we invaded their land, annexed it, took all the products away, kept the profit and ordered them around.....
