Hey to all...

I just thought that I would come and say hello as I have just registered on here. I was once a member of Railchat but it appears that is now for Railstaff, and I no longer meet their criteria.

I used to work for Northern Rail but due to unforseen and discrimination reasons I no longer work there! I have been a rail enthusiast since I was three years old (25 years) and have recently taken the hobby back up from a five year break.

I am usually found with my Grandad, at Copmanthorpe, between Colton Junction and York.

I hope to be a regular visitor here, and look forward to joining in discussions.

Insurance is around 800/900 a year for me, it was actually cheaper than my old car which was a ford puma not sure how

Hi, only just seen this thread.

I'm a 19 year old and as you can see from my sig I'm an electrical/ electronic engineering student at the university of Sheffield with an interest in railways of all shapes and sizes. I'm hoping that when I graduate, I'll be able to go and work in some aspect of railway engineering- maybe S&T or as a rolling stock engineer.

Something I could not live without: Are the necessities a given? If so, probably my music collection.

What else could I tell you? I'm a spotter, a basher, a railway history enthusiast (this mostly manifests in me hanging around disused railway lines :P), and an amateur railway photographer. As my username and listed Favourite Classes probably suggest, I'm mainly into diesel. Still, I'm partial to the odd steam loco - I'm often to be found photographing steam railtours and visiting heritage railways.

I lived in Stratford in a youth Foyer for three years, you couldn't of choose a worse place for it!

No matter how much you spend revitalising somewhere, the people won't change regardless, after the next few weeks of luxury are over the entire area is just going to go back to the way it was previously - a ****ehole. Lasting legacy - my arse!

Just for your facts. I have lived in East London all my life. I was born in Forest Gate in 1990, moved to Upton Park in 1999, got kicked out by parents at 18 (as you do) and lived in Plaistow at a church friary between 2006-2007, then got accepted in to the biggest youth Foyer in Europe (210 residents) and moved and lived in Stratford between 2008-2011, got nominated out in Dec 2011 and now live in Walthamstow with my own one bedroom flat. I also knew the guy who got stabbed at Westfield a few weeks back - I lived with him in the Foyer and he was actually quite a decent guy.

Dynnerch Jack. Where abouts in Cornwall do you live? Great railway history in my old manor (Aberfal and Truro area), used to ride the Maritime Line three times a week during my time there.
