Introduction to the Railway Industry Course

I was wondering if anyone has ever done the Introduction to the Railway Industry – 1 day course at all was wondering if it was any good and worth while doing.

That's one heck of a lot of money if you're not sponsored... all these subjects can be discovered with a bit of googling!
Sounds like the kind of course a company would send a "rail industry newbie" on.

As you are a member of this forum with a few posts under your belt you already know basically what they will tell you and if not then there are many great threads in the infrastructure section of this forum https://www.railforums.co.uk/forums/infrastructure-stations.43/ that are choc full of knowledge from industry insiders which will tell you far more and save you £400 in the process

Depends on what you planning to do with the course.
Are you planning to work for a toc / foc or work on the track doing maintaince?

I would say NO way! I am a member of the IRO. They are very good, but you really don’t need to spend a stupid amount of money for an introduction into the railway. It won’t put you with any advantage of getting a job, and all of the information can be found out through help on the forums and speaking to people that already work there!
