Good evening all!!!

I've got an interview (Assessment 2) for a position as Signaller with Network Rail soon and was wondering if anyone has any idea what questions I will be asked so I can prepare fully.

I'm led to believe that they are criteria based questions and that there will be about 6 or 7 of these.

Any help or advice you could give me would be much appreciated.

Thanks :).

Just trying to remember what questions they asked when I was interviewed. One was how you would go about organising a street carnival, I think they wanted to see if you could think things through in a logical order and any possible consequences.
Another was what I would do if a herd of cows were on the line, don't expect a rule book answer just something that sounds as if your response would be safe and makes good sense!
They also wanted to hear about an example when Ive had to follow rules strictly so maybe think about an example you could use. Can't remember if they used 6/7 criteria based questions that closely, the interview seemed to ebb and flow between those type of questions and more general stuff about myself. I think alot depends on the LOM (manager), if they're interviewing you and what they are looking for as ultimately you'll be working for them...

Try to stay calm and just give natural answers sure you'll do well. Good luck mate!

John, Thanks for the reply and helpful information :)!! How long ago did you have your interview? I'd heard there could be a question like the street party one so I'll prepare for that. I've got a fair idea what they'll ask me so I'll just prepare as best I can and I should be okay!!

Mac, I applied just about 4 months ago so it has taken a while but hoping it will be worth the wait!!!

Ive had 2 interviews in the past, both of them were v similar in the scenarios asked. The first was early 09 and the most recent one was last March. Can't imagine they've changed a great deal since.
