Hi, I have been given a date of wed for interview as a conductor based at Carlisle, Im just wanting to know what to except and how to best end up getting the job ?

Know a bit about the company. Where they operate is an example. "From Carlisle" won't do you any favours
As you have an interview the most important thing they'll be looking at now to see if you're the right person for the job. So really it's a case of taking the usual advice in any interview to give a good impression. They are likely to ask how you would react in certain situations.
They may ask questions totally different in nature to this, but to get you thinking, it's worth having a look here http://www.rossrail.com/central/custservtest.html that was written by a guard who is now a driver.
They won't expect you to know things before you are trained but they're really looking for initiative and also just to check you don't say anything stupid. For example someone did not get a job with LU because they said they would look at potentially suspicious packages themselves

When did you apply for this job? I passed a sift for a vacancy at Manchester Pic which I applied for in May, and still waiting for an interview!
Norky, you might be on hold for the Manchester Jobs, Northern seem to be doing a bit of cost cutting at the moment. a few have left for TPE/Gone Driving as well.
