That was also the case in he March sale.Says on the website that they're refundable and exchangeable this time, which is better than any sale I've seen before!
Paper or mobile pass?Just trying to book these, and the blurb says "No need to choose a start date until you travel", but the booking form won't let you go further without filling one in.
It's not 15 euros it's 15%.Thanks matt and "Deadleaves" (chanson fan?).
In fact they got back to me pretty quickly (after I told their chat robot I wanted a human being), and they said the same thing - flexible start date = mobile pass.
It's the blurb on the front page that's misleading: "No need to choose a start date until you travel" needs an asterisk and "*mobile passes only" adding to it.
With the sale discount, it's probably still worth booking now, as the exchange fee of €15 is less than the difference between sale price and regular price.
All good.
I think the 15% is for refunds.It's not 15 euros it's 15%.

How to start a Pass exchange
- Buy a new Interrail Pass on Interrail.eu.
- Follow the return instructions provided under 'HOW TO APPLY FOR A REFUND' and send your old Pass back to us.
- Contact our customer service by completing the form and make sure you include the old and new Interrail order numbers.
- Once we receive the unused Interrail Pass(es), we will process a 100% refund minus the €15 exchange fee per Interrail Pass. Your refund is based on the value of your Pass only and excludes costs for Shipping and Pass Protection*.
Yes it is. You said the refund cost was 15 euros. I said it is 15%.I think the 15% is for refunds.

For 2nd class, it's best to buy this year because those prices will go up 5% on Jan. 1st.
That appears to be the case.Is the price rise just for 2nd Class passes?
At least one of us is getting mixed up I think! I said the exchange fee was €15 (post 7)Yes it is. You said the refund cost was 15 euros. I said it is 15%.
Only one of us is getting mixed up and it's not you!At least one of us is getting mixed up I think! I said the exchange fee was €15 (post 7)
For clarity, according to the Interrail site quoted in post 9:
- the exchange fee is €15 (i.e. if you get another one)
- the refund fee is 15% (i.e. if you cancel altogether)
Nope - had exactly the same issue. Transaction failed when it got to the payment stage. As they appear to be linked to National Rail, perhaps the website is on strike?!Has anybody managed successfully to buy an IR lately on myinterrail.co.uk? I've been trying since 25 December with no success - various error messages and other errors (such as putting three tickets in my basket, taking them out, etc.) suggesting the website's script is knackered.

The thing is, it's currently somewhat cheaper than interrail.eu, especially for a paper pass.
They're not answering the phone nor thus far responding to e-mails.
It's a shame, as I used to used My Interrail in preference because of, err, their good customer service.
I don't follow your comment - are the passes not denominated in Euros? It's worth pointing out that both websites are currently offering a better exchange rate than actually exists...
You can swap the interrail.eu site to use £ instead using a button at the top of the page. It will then display prices in £, at a better exchange rate than the current "official" rate. myinterrail.co.uk is in £ by default, and offers an even better rate.I don't follow your comment - are the passes not denominated in Euros?
Indeed. For the sake of posterity, myinterrail.co.uk is selling the cheapest adult Global pass (standard class, 4 days in 1 month) for £184, whereas interrail.eu is selling it for €221 (£195.84 at today's Mastercard exchange rate) or £190. With more expensive passes, the difference is obviously larger. You can swap the interrail.eu site to use £ instead using a button at the top of the page. True, but unlikely to be repeated. Unlike most sales, the current 10% off sale doesn't impose any additional conditions - the passes are still refundable (subject to a 15% fee) or exchangeable (subject to a €15/£15 fee). The latter right in particular means that there's little to be lost by ordering now, as you can always get a refund (less €15/£15) if a better sale comes along in the future. Before buying speculatively, bargain hunters should be aware that 50% off has existed before though!
You should have asked, used myinterrail for years for that reason, can also get cashback if go through Quidco. That's marginally annoying - I could have saved £5 had I known about myinterrail!

I don't understand why it would do that, but I experieced a problem buying my passes and discovered that if you are buying two passes you may need to pay for each one separately. When I add one item to my basket on MyInterrail, it's asking for me to add the details of three people (and won't allow duplicates).
Anyone else had this issue? Whenever I try to remove one, it removes all three passes.
No cashback on Quidco for that at the moment, but there is through Topcashback (2.55%). Obviously not guaranteed and typically takes 2-3 months to pay out, but it's worth it.You should have asked, used myinterrail for years for that reason, can also get cashback if go through Quidco.

It keeps failing for me after entering card details. I've tried with both Mastercard and Visa cards - it looks like it can't load the verification pageI've just managed to buy a pass through myinterrail.co.uk. At which stage of the purchase process is it failing for you?
