Interrail compensation for overnight delay

On 25 May, I planned to go from Vienna to Mannheim using an Interrail pass and ended up staying overnight in Stuttgart due to cancellations and delays.

My original plan was
14:28 Wien Hbf – 18:31 München Hbf (ÖBB RJX 64)
18:45 München Hbf – 21:26 Mannheim Hbf (DB Fernverkehr ICE 590)

Due to the Vienna to Munich train being cancelled due to broken air conditioning, my plan changed to
15:28 Wien Hbf – 15:57 St. Pölten Hbf (ÖBB)
16:36 St. Pölten Hbf – 20:16 München Hbf (Westbahn WB 966)
20:45 München Hbf – 23:26 Mannheim Hbf (DB Fernverkehr ICE 990)

Due to the Westbahn being delayed, I missed the ICE 990 and stayed on the Westbahn until Stuttgart, getting there at 22:53. My options were to wait for the ICE 698 (00:54 Stuttgart Hbf – 02:13 Mannheim) or take regional trains via Karlsruhe and get back at 01:14. I stayed overnight in Stuttgart instead.

Could I get compensation for the delay, including having stayed overnight, and for using up an extra pass day due to not being able to finish the journey in one day? Apart from the pass day, who would I claim compensation from?

I think you'll struggle to claim overnight accommodation as there was still a connection to your final connection that day in the eyes of the railway.

But everything else (24 Euro compensation plus usage of another Interrail day - you can argue that this would have been required anyway quite easily I think) you'd claim through Interrail's support channels. https://www.interrail.eu/en/support/delay-compensation for the delay compensation and their live chat for the extra travel day would be my suggestion.
