Serves me right for having a high definition image, i didnt see that it was written vertically on the platform. (I was relying on people to identify the big Buddha) but it was the only image i had to hand which wasnt Matsuyama again.

Based on a the plant looking mediterranean and the building being made of what looks like a red triassic sandstone i am going to guess somewhere Spanish near Valencia

One of my favourite stations from a nostalgic point of view - being introduced as a small child to Continental Rail Travel after trips from UK via Oostende. Although it looks a lot different nowadays. Many years later in my mid 20’s my girlfriend and I gave up our jobs in the UK to travel to work in Australia travelling as much overland as possible. Route was Chester – London Euston – London Victoria – Dover (Hydrofoil) – Oostende – Vienna (Overnight Sleeper) – Budapest (Overnight Sleeper) – Moscow – Beijing (6 Nights and Days on the Trans Siberian Railway) – Hong Kong (2 Days, 1 Night Sleeper). Eventually flew to Thailand and as money was running low after a couple of weeks flew the last leg Bangkok to Perth to start working and saving to fund onward travels to NZ, Fiji, Hawaii and USA. We circumnavigated most of Australia in a VW Campervan bought second hand and ended up in Sydney a few months later where we worked again.
