So, its international book week. Facebook and other forums are playing this little game so I thought we may as well jump on the band wagon.

Grab the nearest book to you, turn to page 52 and post the fith sentence.

Thirty Seconds to Impact - Peter & Maria Burkill

It isn't an exactly well known book. Written by the pilot and his wife. Its the story of BA flight 38 and the resulting drama and media attention that shatterd their personal lives.

Brilliant book by a brilliant author and if you've not read you really should (though be warned it's a long one). It was either that or Thatcher's memoirs

I just tried that one, and got this:

'And then of course, Pete's plane crashed on a routine flight from Beijing, and our carefully constructed, cosy world came tumbling down around us like a house of cards'

The Stand by Stephen King

Brilliant book by a brilliant author and if you've not read you really should (though be warned it's a long one).

The Stand was never one of my favourites - it always seemed to me like he was just trying to find an excuse to rave on about not a lot for as long as he could.

As for my one, This is actually the book that was second closest to me - the closest (The Redemption of Althalus by David and Leigh Eddings) has a map on page 52.
