Hi all,
This question is more hypothetical, as I have no real desire to leave my current job.
At present I work for one of the large transport groups, but in bus division as a manager. I earn around the same as a fully qualified HSS train driver per annum.
I’m trying to find out whether there’s salary protection during the training period if you choose to go for a train drivers job internally? I.e, whereby you stay on your old job salary during your training period. It would be financially impossible for most people to go from £60k to £20k training salary if you’ve got a family/mortgage etc.
Interested to read your thoughts.
Thanks very much!
