Interesting workings today

Whilst out on my travels today on GTR, I saw two interesting workings (well, to me anyway) - empty stock of course

12-car 319 comprising 319.385 + 319.432 + 319.425 s/b

12-car 377/387 comprising 377.521 + 387.116 + 387.127 n/b

Was the first (319s) a stock positioning move?

What was the reason for the 377+387+387 please?

377521 was in selhurst shed on friday having just had its "vinyl removal" and overhaul.

It's not actually a joke. I saw it at Newcastle as 5Z96 last night (from Sunderland to Newcastle) then it appears to have worked 5G96 to Neville Hill. Not sure on the power cars working it, but it must have worked 1Z96 1821 London Kings Cross-Sunderland, down as an extra STP working.

Both GC and XC are Arriva ops, so it sounds plausible that if XC had an unanticipated need, they could do a quick swap.

Saturday morning adex. 1Z61 EAG-KGX dont know any further details as i just caught a fleeting glance unusually on the slows at Skelton when I hammered passed it.

Appears to have just been another "interesting working" taking place on the same day I suppose.

Unfortunately the thread title was too vague. It's not a tit-for-tat penalty, but just a matter of fact that it invited a variety of posts.

That would explain why an Arriva CrossCountry HST turned up yesterday at Cheltenham Spa with a 'Grand Central' sticker on the inside of the coach, despite working an XC Service...

XC set on hire to Grand Central to give additional capacity as Sunderland and Middlesbrough were both playing in London.
