On the Cardiff to Holyhead route which I work often, there are two stations of particular interest (to me anyway!) due to their proximity to notable geographical or structural objects.
Going S-N, Chirk / Y Waun is immediately preceded by, and closely followed by, two viaducts.
Similarly, Bangor is immediately preceded and followed by two tunnels.
Also, Shrewsbury has platforms which extend onto a river bridge.
Are there other examples of notable stations which have notable / unique / interesting topographical features nearby?
