Interest rates go up

From 0.25 to 0.5%. As a saver I say about time too, but still well under inflation. Can't see the banks offering much above 1%in the new year, so a lose-lose for both borrowers and savers.

Aye no doubt they will be quick to pass on the rate rise to borrowers but not so quick to pass it on to savers. :(

There will probably be a bit of a price war to get ISA business at fixed rates for 2018/9 whilst the interest rate keeps climbing.

Still a bit below the rate I faced when house hunting many moons ago (17%).

I suspect the letters from my various credit cards will soon arrive saying that the interest rate I would pay [if I carried a balance] is increasing by 0.25% (as I believe 3 out of 4 are linked to the base rate).
