Don't the SVOs have several airline seats? If so, i'm guessing the full dining service could only be offered if you had a bay of 4?

No, pairs of seats and single seats were also used.

The SVs had at least two single tables when they were first class. The POs were all either tables of two or four until refurbishment which gave them some single tables

All SV had the buffet/kitchen end orientated towards the north under BR, the seating end facing towards London.

Yes, so the seating would be towards the buffer stops at the Cross, as it was part of 1st class seating area, presumably.

Exactly, and would've been orientated that way until rotated and converted to std class
