Interchange Hacks: Circumventing Hostile Signage

While not quite what you asked in the OP, just to mention as per our initial discussion that in a similar vein if you want to get from the Elizabeth Line (or Thameslink but I'm not sure whether it's quicker to go via surface or not) to Barbican there's no need to change onto the sub surface lines - there's an exit from the Farringdon Lizzy Line platforms directly into Barbican station itself.

Which used to be signed, but lost it, when you have ascended the first east end escalator you go left into a passage, but left again to a now unmarked lift in the corner. Go up in that and it comes out in a further passage going to the very west end of the Westbound Inner Rail platform.

I wonder what the longest overall passage is. I suspect Liverpool Street station concourse entrance, down to the Liz line, full platform length, up to Moorgate passages, onto the Northern Line, must be the best part of a mile.

Thank you, tried that this morning coming off of a northbound Thameslink and it was great! The staircase didn't have much signage which might explain why I've missed it in the past

Further tip - if you're going onwards to Euston Square... on both S7 and S8 it's the first pair of doors in the second carriage, so pretty much where you come down on the westbound platform... if you're going to King's Cross you'd be better off staying on the Thameslink. If you're going to Paddington Bishop's Road, you'll want roughly the middle of the train.

My commute is from the Sutton Loop to Euston Square, so thank you that's very useful!

TCR Central line in the pre Elizabeth Line days - as you came off the escalator bank there was a no entry on the right hand side that took you directly to the eastern end of the platforms. This avoided a walk down the corridor. Not sure if its still there?

The spiral staircase down to the Northern Line platforms is no longer in passenger use, sadly.

The shortcut from the bottom of the escalators to the central line platforms at TCR is still there, and also provides an option of transferring from the EL via the Northern Line platforms to the Central Line without going up & back down the main escalators.

Don't think anyone's mentioned the "secret" direct connection from Barbican WB at the west end to Farringdon EL via the lift yet?

A different useful shortcut at Farringdon: a lift from the westernmost end of the Elizabeth Line platforms will take you directly to the southbound Thamesliink platform

This one at TCR was my initla thought on seeing this thread.

And yes to Victoria, to Notting Hill Gate and of course the spaghetti that is Euston.

The south end of the Bakerloo & Victoria line platforms does lead to the west end of the Central line platforms.
