I need to get to Elephant and Castle from St Albans. With a London Thameslink destination ticket can I get a fast train to London Bridge and then do two stops on the Northern Line under the interavailabilty rules?

The text says interavailability is valid "between West Hampstead / Kentish Town and Kings Cross-St Pancras Und / Farringdon / Blackfriars / London Bridge / Elephant & Castle via any reasonable route but NOT intermediately"

I'm not sure whether the "NOT intermediately" bit means you must join at West Hampstead / Kentish Town, or whether just that you can't exit at any tube stop that you might pass though on the way.

It means that you can't leave at underground stations other than those jointly served. However, I would have thought that your quickest journeys are likely to be achieved by changing at Blackfriars and looking at river traffic for a few minutes in between trains.
