I've just done a Google search for these guys. I'm a little bit disappointed at being requested for £16 to read their website.

I was one of their first members back in 1973 and had many memorable coach trips around the country.

Does anybody remember this society?... And why do they want £16 from me to share my thanks and memories?

They aren't charging you £16 to read their website - they are charging that to become a member, which includes access to an area on their website exclusively for members, and 12 issues of a 40 page colour magazine. I've just had a look at http://www.icrs.org.uk and there's lots of non-member stuff on their website that I can read, so to claim that you are being requested to pay £16 to read their website is totally incorrect.

This society do publish some useful information booklets, which can be found on the "publications" section of their website headings.
