Intent to Prosecute Response

I have been sent a letter by a railway service writing of their intention to prosecute. In their letter they have listed the specific instance but I have made other invalid journeys. In my response to the letter, should I specify this or should I respond to the isolated incident? I am trying to get an out of court settlement. For reference, I have no criminal record or previous fines.

It would be helpful if you could give us some more information on what exactly has happened, and show us all the paperwork you've received, but a high level answer to your specific question might be "don't lie, but equally don't admit anything they haven't asked about". So if they're asking about a specific incident and you accept you did it, you could apologise, but you shouldn't say either "I'm really sorry please take pity on me this is the only time I've done this" or at the other extreme "I'm really sorry I did this and by the way there are 50 others like it"
