Hi,
I need clarification on something if anyone can help. About a couple years ago (2013) I was stopped for not having the right amount on my Oyster Card for a journey, I was advised to get a solicitor involved after they didn't except the grounds I stated on why I didn't have enough money on my Oyster card. Anyway to cut a long story short, They dropped the case after I got the solicitors involved, and I never got prosecuted/went to court for this (I have this in a correspondence from TFL to clarify that they dropped the case)
My question is, when I first got stopped by the Officer at the station he started to say that speech that Police officers use when you're about to get arrested (You don't have to say anything, but it may harm your defense etc etc). I really can't remember if he said "I'm arresting you", because he said it so fast. He then done what is called as a 'Pace Interview' on the spot. What I want to know is, does this class as an official arrest? Do they have the power to say that etc. I don't have a criminal record, I've never been arrested in my life, but I'm not sure if this counts as an arrest or not, because he's not an police officer..
I'm only asking, because I've applied for a job interview, and was just wondering would this incident come up, even though I never got prosecuted, and never went to court over it.
Any advice/knowledge on this would be really helpful!
Thanks
