Hello Train Travellers,
I hope some of you can help. Yesterday evening we caught a TransPennine Express train from Edinburgh to Leeds and was told due to industrial action we were to leave the train at Newcastle and catch an LNER train to York and then change trains again in York for the final leg to Leeds. Despite the fact that we had paid tickets to Leeds, we were required to pay for the Newcastle to York stage by LNER. We didn't complete the final leg by train as a friend I was travelling with arranged for someone to collect us by car.
What is the best way to get compensation for the delayed and chaotic journey and the extra fares demanded by LNER?
