Incorrect announcements on tube train

We caught a northern line train this morning from Euston to Moorgate.

The terminus showing at the front when the train entered the station was Golders Green - even though we were on the platform for Morden trains.

The announcements as we went along stopping at Kings Cross, Angel, Old Street and Moorgate said the train was going to Golders Green - totally the opposite direction.

As we were approaching Moorgate the onboard information panel was showing the next sop to be Angel - which we'd already passed.

Did the train's computer just need a reboot or was there something else amiss?

I have also encountered this on Northern Line trains, at least twice. It is most confusing with it always working out what station it is at but stating the next station the one you have just passed through. Even seen passengers get off when they hear (on a northern headed train) 'This is a Northern Line service terminating at Morden'. Not sure what causes it but seems strange the driver never seems to be aware so it never gets corrected.

I boarded a Northern Line train at Angel a few weeks ago that kept announcing that it was going to Battersea Power Station when in fact it was a Morden service. So it does happen sometimes. I am not sure what causes it either but i would be curious to know. Perhaps the driver has set it up wrong.

I use the Northern line most weeks and can only recall this glitch happening once. On the whole, I'd say the 1995TS announcements are among the most reliable. Always audible and very rarely on a train that doesn't have them working. On the other hand, the Piccadilly line announcements/displays are most likely to be glitched or inaudible.

Most likely the driver hasn't entered the correct PTI destination code (Positive Train Identification) on the train's TMS (Train Management System).
