Hi all, I haven't got an email yet? Just wondering from those of you that have, what roles you applied for? TM or IRM?

I applied for IRM, got an email saying my application was still being considered but the process has been delayed until end of April, so not really sure what's going On!

When did you get that Mark? I also applied for IRM and haven't heard anything! As you say, who knows that's going on! All the best with your application!

Unfortunately I'm out as well. Got the email yesterday at 16.30, was disappointed as I called the recruitment department on Thursday and the guy said that I had 'smashed' the SJT and said that I had probably flown through based on my performance on that. So yes, I was expecting a positive reply, but just wasn't to be.
My best guess is that those who got the reply about still being considered are probably the lucky ones, so good luck to you. I am still happy with my new job at Metroline as bus driver, not quite the same thing, but I intent to make it work and progress. It's a foot in the door with TfL at least, and I get free transport all over London as well.

If it's for this role, then it's not just an interview it's an assessment centre too. Read through the pack that they have sent you.

Interview prep is the last couple of pages, there is also a separate link for interview prep in the invite email too.

Most common method of answering questions is by the STAR method:

Situation - What occurred
Task - What had to be achieved
Action - What you done
Result - What was the outcome

Using the above, cross referencing with your assessment centre pack, work out some strong replies.

Thanks, I've just printed the pack off, looks like lots of prep is going to be key!

Hello mark, same situation, received a email advising they will be in contact at the end of the month regarding a update.

Have you received anymore emails? As I see you mention a assessment pack which I have not received.

Thanks

Muzza

Congrats to those starting.

Training wise is 9/10 months for the Traffic Managers with there being 2 cohorts and I was told 8 months for the IRM, start Oct finish in May?

It will be a long training programme but well worth it.

I was simply told 6 months for IRM I've emailed back asking about preparatory reading or training I can do myself to assist as totally new to the industry.

Everything will be covered in the training, I wouldn't worry about coming from outside the industry, I doubt you'll be the only one!

Some aspects of the IRM role will involve investigations so it maybe worth looking at accidents/incidents over the years on the RAIB website, although high level the basics of incident response would be carried out by yourself on arrival at site.

Just got a phone call offering traffic manager role at romford, bit surprised really as I thought id dipped out as didn't get a call last week! Can anyone explain the unsocial allowance, is that paid on every hour deemed unsocial or a set allowance on top of salary?
Plus anyone been given an idea of shifts?
Thanks and well done to all those who were successful :D

Well done Mark , my email just says 30% so I'm
assuming there is a criteria somewhere which qualifies each unsociable percentage.
Shifts no idea I can only go on what it said in the pre-read.

No criteria.

30% is on top of the base salary offered, however you will not automatically get this from the start. It'll be at the end of when your training finishes that you'll get the enhancement.

Shift wise will be an early, late, night and 12 hours at the weekend. Subject to change obviously!
