Incident near Penrith.

All service currently suspended on WCML between Lancaster and Penrith, due to person being hit by train near Penrith. Sympathies to all concerned.

I was catching the 15.41 from Preston to Carlisle, this was cancelled as were some others. I was in no great hurry so I waited. I was able to get the 17.53 from Preston, which was only delayed by a few minutes.

Incidentally, coaches were ordered for the 15.41 service, I recognised some of the people as I got off my train at Carlisle at around 19.10pm!

Exactly. Best to go in the nearest pub & enjoy. Train far more civilised & quicker.
