Incident at Stockport 24-02-26??

My Grandson arrived back home about 16.30hrs 24.02.26 to say the barrier line at Stockport station was crawling with armed police (up to a dozen), Airport style magnetic security arches, a number of police vans and several additional ticket checks.

Anyone any idea what was happening?

Probably knife arches and a revenue block. BTP and the TOCs do them regularly across the country. Most likely drugs dogs there too.

Im not sure the arches actually detect anything (ive walked through with metallic items in my pocket before) but officers watch peoples body language and behaviour when they see them. People who make u turns or hesitate will likely be searched.

I've seen them a few times, you don't have to walk through the arch, but if you don't, they will definitely pull you to one side.

I walked through one in my rail staff uniform with a pair of scissors in my pocket as I was going to buy some insoles from the shop. Heard them say I set it off but they never actually stopped me.
