A train has been derailed near Gillingham (Dorset), buses are in place between Gillingham & Yeovil UFN.

I can't find out any more at present though.

Anyone else know any more?

It's mentioned on the SWT website but not on the BBC News (Dorset & Devon local news) website. Hopefully there are no casualties.

Initial information suggests that the train struck a tree just london side of Gillingham tunnel. Train has derailed about 300meters inside the tunnel.

Looked on SWT's website and buses are still replacing trains between Gillingham and Yeovil

I was on a train that hit a tree once, but didn't derail. It was on the Cotswold Line at Campden Tunnel on 166209, last train of the night to Worcester Shrub Hill. If anyone looked closely at the front of the train around July 2008 then cracks a gaps could be seen just under the windscreen!!
