Hello!

First of I apologise in advanced if this is either in the wrong forum or not allowed on here. I hope I'm in the right forum and it is allowed.

Any way I'm looking to self host my own image gallery for all my pics that I take.

I have my own domain name and a VPS so hosting is not an issue and I feel it's probably my best option as if offers me GB's of diskspace and plenty of bandwidth.

Does any one know of any software that is simple but also publishes the photos via RSS as I want to be able to use RSS feeds for images I do upload.

Any help and advice would be appreciated.

Do you have your own server or space on a server to use?
Or are you planning on doing it via Windows?

Coppermine is one of the more popular options, not sure about RSS Feeds though. Another popular choice is Gallery2.

Hope this helps in some capacity! :)

I have a linux VPS.

I was looking at some open source software I found called phTagr looks like it could do the job

Just had a quick look and some nice images... I'll have a nosey in a moment.

I personally find Gallery is big and bulky.

The last gallery i mentioned in my post previous was one of those you install vi SSH and I cant be asked doing that tonight so I'm using Plogger well about to install it.

I've now installed Plogger.. it's very easy to use... using FTP create a folder inside /uploads

I.E Railway in /uploads so it's /uploads/Railway

You can then import all the pictures from that folder into an album. It will suggest Railway as the gallery name. If you add more pictures it knows this and asks if you want to import.

You can also upload image by image or zip them up into a zip file of 2MB and upload.
