Correct.
- The 'heratage' features I'm talking about are the Southern-style designation of 4JOP and the fact they have a 4-digit front fleetnumbers, rather than the full 6-digits.
- They are currently exclusive to the Waterloo-Reading line, but will move to Windsor and Hounslow Lines with the 460 extension project.
- They were so unreliable that South West Trains were planning on giving them up in 2006, despite being 5-6 years old.
As far as I know, they are replacing the HC Desiros (which are Standard Class only), which will regain First Class and be placed on the Reading Line.

Most definitely. I've never known any problems with a 458, and I've used them countless times. Initially they were pretty hopeless though.
A relative of a class that I am very familiar with [look at my location if you aren't sure what is likely], this unit is operated by only one TOC and is quite small in number. It is often seen in multiple with the (far more numerous) class that immediately precedes it by TOPS classification. Unlike its relatives, but in common with many other classes that rely on the same form of power, it has a unusual feature at each end.

OK, I'm related to a very numerous class, so numerous I nearly ran out of TOPS allocations, but only three of me where built, and for a very specialised purpose, designed to be a more powerful version of my siblings, and in fact one of the most powerful one of this type ever produced...

Only one of me suvives and i have a unique feature thats uncommon in British Railways but more Common on Foreign Railways (Notably Japan), The only suvivor is still with us being restored by a preservation society dedicated to a different locomotive......(If this isnt very good i aoplogise but this is my first).

We used on 3rd rail routes in Merseyside, although most routes north of London use OHLE
455/7s have a TSO from this class, and were based there when new.
