Built in the 1970s, this unit was withdrawn a few years ago. Towards the end of its life it was a regular in one specific county, which has three main routes through it; it was withdrawn from service on one of these routes just before my birthday that year.

I'm a 'newer' version of stock basically the same in use on a different line with two branches,
1996 is 'newer' than 1995 stock user on the Northern line.

my line has no branches
Jubilee Line

and the stock in use on my line that I am has recently had a carriage added
It has, extended to 7 car

we both operate in the same passenger transport executive.
Transport for London

My stock replaced some not very old stock that was classed as not very suitable,
Replaced the 87 stock that wasn't suitable

it also uses the same drive system as the last peice of stock.
