Let me give you all another little hint/tip (as opposed to "clue"): The point about this unit having something different to most other stock is probably the most significant part of this. And the difference is a massive one!

NIR 450 class?
The difference being they're one of the very few DMUs to have an above-floor engine.

No, but I will give it to you. The answer I wanted was the 80. The difference being the gauge! (And the semi-difference is, of course, the engine.)
The 450 was never NIR's most numerous class. Only nine (?) were ever ordered, compared to quite a few 80s.

Thanks, I forgot the rather more obvious difference in gauge
Open floor, I can never think of anything suitably cryptic to describe a loco/unit class.

3 members of this class were the last of this type of locomotive to be owned by br. the same 3 members were the only ones of thier type to carry br blue and double arrow logo. this class is not populated by one loco type but many different types. the tops numbervis never carried on the loco. this ones too easy i fear.

These 4 car trains were used om the southern region. They have a unique feature. They were withdrawn in the 1970's.

Nope. This train was pre TOPS and was built for the southern railway in 1949.
4-BIL? If it doesn't have TOPS then I don't have a clue.

It is indeed a 4-DD. The double decker charing cross to dartford commuter trains.
