I'm a small subclass in a family with 3 classes, used by 5 TOCs at one point, another one wanted to use me, and have operated in England, Wales and Scotland.

Because 222s have never worked in Scotland.

Although once true, this unit is no longer the most common used by its current TOC. Built at some point between 1960 and 1990, this unit was different in one critical aspect to the majority of UK train classes, but conversely shared one aspect with a small number of others units, especially on the former Southern Region. Most of this unit's work was based around commuter services to two inner city termini, but it did see some country use.

First extra clue: Consider carefully the "two termini" clue. 442s, for instance, have used at least three: Waterloo, Victoria and London Bridge. Or at least, I'd assume they have been to the last named terminus before now!
