Length, it's 9 or 10 carriages long... At least half as long again as a 6 carriage formation of (Two class 185 units), and has the same power between both power cars, 4500hp...

Actually HST's through Bristol are 7/8 cars. (FGW & XC) There are no 10 car HST's. The longest are East Coast's 2x9 sets. So your clue was a bit misleading.

But how are 220s or 221s half as long again as a pair of 185s... and btw...

a 2+7 HST is approximately 197m long... with a pair of 185s coming in at approximately 138m, for a 2+8 this is 220m, easilly half as long again as a pair of 185s Remember, power cars aren't 0m long
