I'm thinking of a station...

Finally...

Yep, there are several afternoon departures from Newark North Gate to Peterborough via Lincoln (we're hardly talking unusual services here), and of course EC provides about 1tph via Grantham.

Yay, at last :D

Somewhere, not in London
I have four platforms, and 8tph in each direction (During the day), served by 2 TOCs, used to be served by a 3rd, that still runs through fast during engineering works, and still has stop markers on three of the four platforms.

I didn't say NNG because I thought HT stopped there :(

If the floor is open:

This station is on a mainline and see more than 4tph but not more than 8tph. There is a very limited service that starts/terminates at this station. There is an InterCity service here but far from all services stop. In years gone by it had an hourly express working besides the Intercity service which was non-stop from here to London. There are plans afoot to build a new station in this settlement to give this station a much-needed reduction in footfall.

That lasted long

How many of mine have been successfully answered by someone besides yourself? As a percentage? :| Actually - don't answer that.

It was the last sentence about the replacement station that gave it away !
I wouldn't have had a clue otherwise ...

[ Incidentally I always think that if the OP doesn't mention either the number of platforms or which TOCs serve the station, then there must be a good reason for that - i.e. would make it too easy ]

That was jammy. XC Voyagers are a very rare sight in Fareham!

Given the floor is open (hopefully it can last longer than one guess this time!):

This two-platform station is one a select few on its line where everything calls under normal circumstances. Most services continue through this station but a limited number do not. The majority of services are run by DMUs but not all. Destinations served at least daily from this location include Manchester, Bristol and London, but only one of these is served on a regular basis. One of the forum's most prominent posters (by post count) would call this station his local.

Twice a day, every day (SuX) :P More often than at Bath.

Par? The timetable shows a few local stoppers terminating there in the summer to make up for Newquay diversions.

Nope. This station is however south of the M62 and west of the M1, so it's somewhere in that "quarter" of Britain, as with the two guess so far.

This station's name begins with a letter between F and N inclusive.

Llanelli? Regular service to Manchester, infrequent to Bristol (Parkway) and London.

Indeed it is. Served by SWT, FGW and Southern. XC Voyagers pass through without stopping. The Gosport branch is disused and in the process of being torn up to make a bus road.

What are the XC services? Can't identify them online. Presumably route knowledge workings? Or ECS for the Guildfords?

This station has two platforms and is served by 3 TOCs with through services to a wide range of destinations but not (currently) London. It spent about 25 years closed in the late 20th century before being totally rebuilt. All services are DMUs but HSTs pass through.
